Annal or delete a form

This article is for teachers.

When you're done teaching a class, you tin can archive information technology. When a class is archived, information technology's archived for all students and teachers in the grade. If y'all don't archive a class, students and teachers in the class continue to come across information technology on their Classes page.

Teachers and co-teachers can archive a course, merely only the principal teacher can delete a class. Students tin can't archive or delete a class.

What happens to an archived class?

  • It'southward placed in a split up expanse to preserve the form materials, student work, and posts. You won't meet it with your agile classes on the Classes page.
  • Y'all and your students can view an archived class. To use the course again, you take to restore it.
  • You and your students can however access any grade materials in Google Bulldoze. That includes whatsoever attachments for assignments or other pupil work.
  • Students can't unenroll from an archived class. This can limit how students tin manage the classes they're done taking.
  • The class agenda remains in your Google Agenda and in your students' calendars. If you no longer demand the class, you can remove its calendar from view, or delete it permanently. For instructions, go to Delete or unsubscribe from a calendar.

    Note: An archived form stays in Classroom until you delete it. That'due south why an archived course'south calendar yet shows in your Google Calendar.

Archive or restore a class

Archive a class

Yous can re-create classes earlier or subsequently you lot archive them. For instructions, get to Copy a class.

  2. On the class carte, click More than "" and then Annal.
  3. Click Archive to confirm.

View an archived class

  3. Scroll down and clickArchived Classes.

    Note: If you haven't archived any classes, this option won't be in the menu.

Restore an archived class

When you restore an archived class, you see the class card once more with your current classes. You can utilize its posts, assignments, comments, and materials again.

  3. Scroll downwardly and clickArchived Classes.

    Notation: If you lot haven't archived any classes, this option won't be in the carte.

  4. On the class card, click More "" and then Restore.
  5. Click Restore to ostend.

Delete a class

Warning: There'due south no way to undo deleting a class. If you lot click Delete, you no longer have access to whatever class posts or comments. Even so, you and your students tin can still access your form files in the class Drive binder.

When you decide yous'll never apply a grade again, you tin can delete it permanently. You have to archive a grade before yous tin delete it. Only the chief teacher can delete a form. Co-teachers can't delete a class.

To delete an archived class:

  2. At the top, click Menu"".
  3. Scroll down and click Archived classes.

    Note: If you haven't archived whatsoever classes, this selection won't be in the menu.​

  4. On the course bill of fare, click More "" and then Delete.
  5. Click Delete to confirm.
